IFRS, Chris Hebden (Chairman) – Cairn Energy

Chris Hebden is a Senior Finance Manager at Cairn Energy plc, responsible for the Group’s statutory reporting. A qualified Chartered Accountant, Chris joined Cairn in 1998 and during his time with the company has enjoyed secondments in India and the Netherlands before returning to Edinburgh. Having managed the Groups transition from UK GAAP to IFRS, Chris continues to hold a central role in managing the Groups IFRS reporting requirements. Chris has been a member of OIAC since 2009 and took over the chairmanship from Alan Thomas in 2013.

Simon Weaver (Secretary) – KPMG

Simon Weaver is a manager in the Audit practice of KPMG in the UK. Simon is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. Simon has over 6 years experience serving oil and gas companies, ranging from small independents to large global multinationals. Simon is a member of KPMG’s Energy and Natural Resources Group and has been a member of OIAC since 2012.

Alison Ashworth – BG Group

Alison Ashworth is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience in financial reporting, the last 12 of which have been gained within BG Group. During her time at BG Group she has been responsible for the IFRS implementation project and is currently the Group’s External Reporting Manager. Alison has represented BG Group at the Financial Reporting Committee of the 100 Group and other industry forums. Alison has been a member of OIAC since 2010.

Justine Belton – Ernst & Young

Justine Belton is an assurance Partner at Ernst & Young. She has 20 years experience in the oil and gas sector, providing audit services and assisting companies with capital markets transactions. Her clients have ranged from small start-ups to large international oil companies with operations across the globe. She is also a member of Ernst & Young’s IFRS desk in London. Justine has been a member of OIAC since 2004.

Matthew Blake – Centrica

Matthew Blake is Head of Technical Accounting at Centrica Plc and is a chartered accountant with over 12 years experience in financial reporting in the energy and utilities industry. During his 7 years at Centrica he has spent the majority of his time setting Upstream policy and resolving Oil and Gas accounting issues. Matthew has led the IFRS accounting for numerous Oil and Gas M&A deals (both business combinations and asset acquisitions), production sharing contracts, joint arrangements (including carries and farm-ins/outs) and on a variety of other topics. He was previously responsible for technical accounting and consolidation at RWE Thames Water. Matthew became a member of OIAC in 2013.”

Aurangzeb Bozdar – Premier Oil

Aurangzeb Bozdar is the Managing Director of Disequalise Ltd a energy business advisory firm. Aurangzeb has over 20 years of accounting and finance experience, mostly in the oil and gas sector, and is a qualified accountant from Coopers & Lybrand. He was previously the Group Financial Controller of Premier Oil plc, the Head of Finance at Premier KUFPEC Pakistan BV, and also the Financial Controller at Premier Shell Pakistan. Aurangzeb specialises in project financing long term projects, Oil and Gas M&A, restructuring, incorporated joint ventures, IFRS, international E&P taxation, financial management, corporate governance and risk management. Aurangzeb has been a member of OIAC since 2010.

Jimmy Daboo – KPMG

Jimmy Daboo is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years experience in the oil and gas sector. He is the partner in-charge of KPMG’s Accounting and Assurance services to energy and natural resources companies globally. He has been the lead audit partner on six FTSE-100 companies and has extensive experience advising on corporate transactions. As well as being a member of OIAC, he is a member of the UK Financial Reporting Review Panel and the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Roger Harrington – BP

Roger Harrington is the Chief Accounting Officer for BP plc. In this role he is responsible for preparing BP’s financial reports and for setting and interpreting accounting policy for the group. He is a qualified chartered accountant with the ICEAW and has over 20 years experience in financial reporting. Prior to joining BP he worked in the Energy and Utility practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers, providing assurance and advisory services to a variety of clients in the sector. Roger has been a member of OAIC since 2013.

Simon Ingall – Shell International Limited

Simon Ingall is the Head of Group Accounting Policies R&D at Royal Dutch Shell. He has spent much of his long career at Shell involved with financial reporting. Simon is a member of the CBI’s Financial Reporting Panel, of BusinessEurope’s Accounting Sounding Board and was a member of the Advisory Panel to the IASB research project team prior to the publication of the Extractive Activities’ Discussion Paper. Simon has been a member of OIAC since 2003.

Mark King – PwC

Mark King is PwC’s UK Oil and Gas Industry Group Leader. He specialises in providing audit and assurance services to a variety of companies in the oil and gas sector. Current and recent clients include BG Group plc, Royal Dutch Shell plc, E.ON Ruhrgas and JKX Oil and Gas plc. Mark is chair of PwC’s Global Energy IFRS Experts Committee and has been PwC’s representative on OIAC since 2004.

Alan Thomas – OIAC

Alan Thomas is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years experience analysing or working in the oil and gas sector. For 15 years he was the Partner/Director responsible for oil and gas sector research at stockbroker Kitcat & Aitken. He spent nine years in senior management positions in Kuwait Petroleum International and was Finance Director of Wham Energy plc and of Bramlin Ltd. Alan has also held several oil and gas sector Non-Executive Directorships. He was a founder of OIAC, is a regular speaker at oil and gas accounting conferences and holds an MBA from the University of Surrey.

Bevan Whitehead – Deloitte

Bevan Whitehead is an Audit Partner of Deloitte in the UK, and heads its Energy and Resources audit practice. He is a Chartered Accountant, and a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and the Energy Institute. Bevan has some 20 years experience providing audit and related services to the upstream oil and gas sector, and has been lead audit partner for a significant number of UK listed lndependents, as well as serving a number of other national oil companies and multinationals. He has been a member of OIAC since 2001 and holds an MBA with distinction from Warwick Business School.
